The Brewer's Cabinet had become a downtown Reno institution and now I know why! We visited on a Sunday afternoon and were greeted with prompt service. We both ordered the Tahoe Blonde to drink. Our only complaint was was that the beer was a bit flat but otherwise tasty and refreshing. To eat, we ordered the soft pretzel, buffalo wings, and chimichurri sandwich. All were delicious and ensured we will return soon!
Been a while since we tried The Brewer's Cabinet and I'm glad we did. The Average Joe Burger I had was solid, the fries though were excellent. Service was really pleasant and helpful as well as being quick. Great selection of beers and lots of televisions which allowed you to watch the football games from pretty much every seat in the house. The decor is subtle, yet attractive. Definitely not haute cuisine, but the food and drink is what you'd expect from a place like this. Will likely return in the future.
Note to self - Taco Tuesdays and Happy Hour with bar seating! Bring my daughter! Quality/Quantity - Well, as you can see from the note above, Taco Tuesdays during Happy Hour with bar seating is the BEST day and time to come. What a big difference in our experience from our last visit. Taco - Wow, I mean wow. I did not expect the street tacos to be so good. All 3 of my tacos had a crispy skin/layer as if they were deep fried...? And the sauce with a slight kick was a perfect compliment. The limes seemed dry and old...? As if it was precut days in advance? Anyways, they were still a homerun. And 3 was a perfect quantity to compliment my beers. My wife only got two tacos. She also liked it. BC Octoberfest - Good start and complimented my dinner. Walloper Scotch Ale - Perfect way to end the meal. Don't worry, I have more of your beer at home, lol. Atmosphere - Copy and pasted from my previous review. Interestings place. Felt like they slowly acquired neighboring places and kept expanding...? Same place/company, but a few different sections. Brew Pub - This was where we dined today. Behind us was the Beer Garden, not sure if there was a way to get from the Pub to the Garden without having to walk around. The Beer Garden was just an outdoor patio and the Pub had an outdoor patio as well. Event Room - This was cool, see pictures. Sorry, I should have labeled the pictures better but I was sure you could figure it out. Tap Room - Closed the day we came which just means we will be back. See pictures. Lastly, their Production Facility - See other Yelp review. I felt it was a cooler space, but with limited food. No more than "six" customers (tables) today, so plenty of parking. Open 7 days a week from 10am or 11am to 11pm. Many promotions, see pictures or their website. Service - Sitting at the bar usually always gets us good (better) service. Unless we are entertaining, this will be our go-to place and seating. Price - $22+ tip. Wow, this might be the least expensive meal I have had in a VERY long time! And I had two beers! See you in a few weeks on Tuesday! And I plan to bring my daughter as she also loves tacos (and beer). Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2012. 2018 - BC taproom opened.
We visited with our dog on a warm afternoon and the hostess found us a shady table on the patio of the taproom next door. Our server was sweet and the burger was tasty. We had their chips which were excellent. There is a "service animals only" sign on the main door but they were fine having our dog - so that must pertain to inside. Water for our dog was delivered after we paid our check. They may want to consider adding more shade.
My last visit was excellent. Good was great, beer was fine. The best place in the restaurant is the back area gameroom.
The pretzel was delicious! One of the best soft pretzels and sides I've had in town. I was craving a Philly cheesesteak, but this one did not fulfill my craving, but the sweet potato fries are always delicious here. I think I accidentally ordered a kids mac n cheese? Not sure if they have one that is different from this, but I hope so. This mac was reminding me of Kraft. Overall, I understand this was takeout, so it won't taste as great as served fresh. They were quick to make our food and I do still love their burgers, so we will be back
I've been here so many times and am sad this is my first review. Brewers Cabinet is my neighborhood restaurant and I come here frequently for Lunch, Dinner, and Happy Hour. The staff is always friendly and attentive, and accommodating to our kids and our dog when she tags along. I love the outdoor seating during the warmer months, the back patio is especially nice when we have the dog with us, and the staff always makes sure to bring water out for her. The beer selection is solid, with several different varieties, and I often find great seasonal brews that I always enjoy. Dragon Punch IPA is a flagship brew that I enjoy often when I don't find something different. One of my recent favorites is the Crooked Palm, a refreshing IPA with a hint of coconut. I've tried most of the options on the menu at this point. The BLTA is one of my favorites, and the Brew master Burger is another go to. For apps, the Taco Trio is excellent and could be an entree as well. The Chimichurri Steak salad is also a excellent entree, my wife and I usually split that and a burger or sandwich. The fries are delicious as well, they have a sweet seasoning, guessing brown sugar, and they are always hot and delicious. They have a classic kids menu with burgers, tenders, mac and cheese, etc. It's priced reasonably, which I always appreciate with a family of 5. The happy hour is also a good deal. $2 off select beer, cocktails, and appetizers. Happy hour is from 4-6pm daily. I make sure to mention this because it's not on their website. They also have Burger Monday, $15 for a Burger and Beer. Lastly, the Tap house is a fun addition with a more casual space and larger bar area. They serve food there as well so don't hesitate to stop in there if the restaurant looks busy. All this talk of Brewers cabinet is making me hungry, may head there for dinner tonight!
